New York State will require property owners of residential dwellings with two or more units built prior to 1980 to join a rental registry program. In addition to joining this registry, property owners must undergo a certification process every three years to verify that their property is lead-free. This includes a yearly property inspection. Properties that do not pass inspection will continue to be reinspected until they are certified lead-free. Lead Connections can help you navigate all of this.
